Shadow of the Beast is announced

Posted on April 19, 2015 at 4:30 pm

It’s been a while since Shadow of the Beast was announced, much less since the last update about it. It has been a while because the team has been hard at work on the game since that original reveal, and showing very little since the original trailer. Today, though, the company has released some early screenshots of Shadow of the Beast and it looks mightily impressive. The team talked at length about how the original Shadow of the Beast impacted them when they were younger, and they knew it was important to capture the same emotions in this remake.
The balance between beauty and brutality was the key feature of the development process; especially when it came to game’s visuals. The game’s core gameplay traits are focused around platforming and speedy, visceral combat. The game looks gorgeous already but with no firm release date the agonising wait goes on. We can only hope it comes out this year.

Capturing and Sharing Screenshots on Xbox One

Posted on February 24, 2015 at 11:24 am

It is now easy to capture screenshots on Xbox One and share them online thanks to the new system update. The screenshots captured through Xbox One are of superior quality compared to those captured through PlayStation 4. However, both the consoles compress the images when sharing them on online platforms. Compression refers to the way Xbox One resizes the images before sharing them. The Xbox One’s compression feature ensures that the image quality is not affected much after it has been resized. In some instances, the resized image may lower in quality thus appearing blurry. However, you need to follow some steps to get the highest quality screenshots.

Capturing and Sharing your Screenshot Online

You can buy cheap Xbox One Games online in a number of stores. Operating Xbox One is easy as there is a lot of information online. Taking a screenshot is easy too. All you need is to double tap the home button on Xbox One which is on the controller. This will automatically take a screenshot and save it on your hard disk. Xbox One allows you upload the image to different online platforms. However, if you want to save the image file, you need to upload it to OneDrive or Twitter. (more…)

Cart Life: Lo fi social commentary

Posted on January 20, 2015 at 6:34 pm

A grim tale of bureaucracy and poverty in a totalitarian state; Cart Life is the multi award winning, including the Seumas McNally Grand Prize at the IGF in 2013, game from creator Richard Hofmeier. The game is described as a “retail simulator” but also focuses on eating, drinking, sleeping, friendship, loss, triumph, punishment and crime – in truth, it simulates a lot of the human experience.

It’s not a huge amount of fun though; the game is bleak, albeit excellent, in its execution. There’s three characters to navigate through Cart Life’s grim world; each with their own friendships and hardships, and best of all the game is now free.

Richard Hofmeier has removed his game from Steam and offering it for free alongside the source code, so people can now see the inner workings of the game itself and make their own content for it. Check out the game’s website for the free download.

The Evil Within – Prepared to be scared

Posted on August 27, 2014 at 7:46 pm

The Evil Within is not your normal action adventure game. It’s gruesome, dark and actually really spooky. You’re a detective and after seeing many of your peers encounter gruesome deaths, it’s up to you to find out what’s gone on.

You wake up in a world of walking dead, and the detective life is gone and it’s now about survival. There’s an evil force out there and you’re the only individual that can stop it, or can you? We don’t want to give too much away, but the graphics are actually quite superb, while the small details have really been given care and attention.

The sound effects will have you shimmering in your boots, and there are plenty of surprises in store. It’s a world of dead people, brutal killings and blood galore, so it’s certainly not one for the faint hearted.
